“What Dreams May Come is an experimental project where I challenged and stretched my compositional ability and uncovered more about the capabilities of a jazz orchestra, in the process hopefully creating a relaxing and reflective experience for whoever is listening – with a few twists and turns. I want it to ease stress for the listener, where they can still be present with their thoughts, and have a meaningful and reflective experience, like daydreaming.”

The arranging and scope of this album elevates NZ orchestral Jazz to a new level. Much of the album has a pastoral quality and that is fitting in the world we now find ourselves in. Our geographical confinement need not be a cage if we learn to value what is under our nose. John Fenton
